Introduction to my village chapora

Finally! I created a blog today which I wanted to start a long time ago as my heart always told me "write on the soil of which you are daughter." My inner voice always inspired me and provoked me to create this blog and to talk about the village on which I was born and brought up. I grew up playing on the beaches and enjoying beauty of the village and spending most of the time swimming in chapora river and climbing the way to chapora fort enjoying wild fruits on the way and also biodiversity. I am a daughter of chapora village and chapora river flows in my blood. So let me start today and I hope this journey continues for ages. 
Chapora and vagator are  two wards which falls in Anjuna village Panchayat  in Bardez taluka of North Goa. Chapora is a beautiful village at the mouth of river chapora and also marked by  vagator beach on another side. Chapora is famous for its river chapora which is one the famous and largest river in Goa followed by river mandavi and zuari which starts at Maharashtra and ends at chapora meeting Arabian sea at this point. Chapora village is also known as  caisuva. Chapora village is famous for its fort which is located on top of the hill and is nowdys famous as " Dil Chahta hai fort" and famous all over the world and specially among the Indian tourist who wish to visit this fort atleast once in their life time. Chapora village is also famous for its jetty and it's fish. People from all over Goa travel to chapora to buy fishes such as karli , mackerel ( bangdo) and the most famous is xinanneo or one can say speciality of the village.  Chapora also marks rich diversity of temples and churches. The famous temple of swami achutanand is visited by many specially on Monday which is Considered as day of swami achutanand Maharaj which has a long history to be describe



d. Another temples which attracts many Goans is Sidheshwar temple which lies on the beach and made by  carving the rocks, and the idol of God Siddheshwar and linga of shiva lies inside the rocks. Every year people visit this temple during mahashiv ratri. There are other temples also of lord Hanuman , lord Mahesh which are famous among local people. Durvat is another festival which is celebrated by hindus. Other festivals include Ganesh chaturti , Diwali which are celebrated with lot of grace and holiness. Chapora village has famous chapels and churches which are famous among the Christian community. Another famous event in our village is "Sanjao" which is celebrated with lot of love and with drama. Chapora market is famous among the international tourist , streets of chapora market are always crowded and foreigner as well as chaporkars share a close and friendly bonds for years. Foreigner visit chopora from olden and golden  times. One can really find the diverse culture from different countries in this village where foreigners even participate in poojas and also Christian mass.
